Chapter 67: Rāma Meets Jaṭāyu
Text 3.67.26

सम्पूर्णमपि चेदद्य प्रतरेयं महोदधिम्।
सोऽपि नूनं ममालक्ष्म्या विशुष्येत्सरितां पतिः॥

sampūrṇam api ced adya pratareyaṁ mahodadhim
so ’pi nūnaṁ mamālakṣmyā viśuṣyet saritāṁ patiḥ

sampūrṇam = across the entire; api = even; cet = if; adya = today; pratareyam = I could swim to relieve Myself; mahā-udadhim = great ocean; saḥ = that; api = also; nūnam = certainly; mama = My; alakṣmyā = because of misfortune; viśuṣyet = would dry up; saritām = of the rivers; patiḥ = husband.

Even if I could swim across the entire great ocean today to relieve Myself, certainly that husband of the rivers would also dry up because of My misfortune!
