Chapter 69: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Meet Kabandha
Text 3.69.25
संवेष्टितमिवात्यर्थं गगनं मातरिश्वना।
वनस्य तस्य शब्दोऽभूद्दिवमापूरयन्निव॥
saṁveṣṭitam ivātyarthaṁ gaganaṁ mātariśvanā
vanasya tasya śabdo ’bhūd divam āpūrayann iva
saṁveṣṭitam = fills up; iva = just as; atyartham = completely; gaganam = the entire sky; mātariśvanā = the wind; vanasya = forest; tasya = above the; śabdaḥ = that disturbing sound; abhūt = appeared; divam = the sky; āpūrayan iva = to fill up.
That disturbing sound appeared to fill up the sky above that forest just as the wind completely fills up the entire sky.
