Chapter 69: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Meet Kabandha
Text 3.69.28
रोमभिर्निचितैस्तीक्ष्णैर्महागिरिमिवोच्छ्रितम्।
नीलमेघनिभं रौद्रं मेघस्तनितनिःस्वनम्॥
romabhir nicitais tīkṣṇair mahā-girim ivocchritam
nīla-megha-nibhaṁ raudraṁ megha-stanita-niḥsvanam
romabhiḥ = hair; nicitaiḥ = his body was densely [filled]; tīkṣṇaiḥ = with sharp; mahā-girim = a large mountain; iva = like; ucchritam = he was tall; nīla-megha-nibham = [his complexion] was like that of a blue cloud; raudram = he was frightening [to see]; megha-stanita-niḥsvanam = and his sounds were like the thundering of clouds.
His body was densely [filled] with sharp hair. He was tall, like a large mountain. [His complexion] was like that of a blue cloud. He was frightening [to see] and his sounds were like the thundering of clouds.
