अग्निज्वालानिकाशेन ललाटस्थेन दीप्यता।
महापक्ष्मेण पिङ्गेन विपुलेनायतेन च॥
एकेनोरसि घोरेण नयनेनाशुदर्शिना।
महादंष्ट्रोपपन्नं तं लेलिहानं महामुखम्॥
agni-jvālā-nikāśena lalāṭasthena dīpyatā
mahā-pakṣmeṇa piṅgena vipulenāyatena ca
ekenorasi ghoreṇa nayanenāśudarśinā
mahā-daṁṣṭropapannaṁ taṁ lelihānaṁ mahā-mukham
agni-jvālā-nikāśena = like a fiery flame; lalāṭasthena = on his forehead; dīpyatā = that eye was shining; mahā-pakṣmeṇa = it had a thick eyelid; piṅgena = it was brown; vipulena = large; āyatena = wide; ca = and; ekena = Kabandha had a single; urasi = which was on his chest; ghoreṇa = it was terrible; nayanena = eye; āśudarśinā = moving about quickly; mahā-daṁṣṭra-upapannam tam = was equipped with large teeth; lelihānam = and he repeatedly licked his tongue; mahā-mukham = His large mouth.
Kabandha had a single eye on his forehead which was on his chest. That eye was shining like a fiery flame. It was brown, large and wide. It had a thick eyelid. It was terrible, moving about quickly. His large mouth was equipped with large teeth and he repeatedly licked his tongue.
Kabandha had a single eye on his chest, that is, a single eye was visible [on his chest]. “His large mouth” was a large aperture in his face.
