Chapter 71: Kabandha’s Past Life
Text 3.71.21
रावणेन हृता भार्या मम सीता यशस्विनी।
निष्क्रान्तस्य जनस्थानात्सह भ्रात्रा यथासुखम्॥
rāvaṇena hṛtā bhāryā mama sītā yaśasvinī
niṣkrāntasya janasthānāt saha bhrātrā yathā-sukham
rāvaṇena = Rāvaṇa; hṛtā = has abducted; bhāryā = wife; mama = My; sītā = Sītā; yaśasvinī = the illustrious; niṣkrāntasya = when I had gone out [of our āśrama]; janasthānāt = from Janasthāna; saha = and; bhrātrā = My brother; yathā-sukham = conveniently.
Rāvaṇa has conveniently abducted My wife, the illustrious Sītā, from Janasthāna when I and My brother had gone out [of our āśrama].
