Chapter 73: Kabandha Requests Śrī Rāma to Visit Śabarī
Text 3.73.29
तस्मिन्नन्दनसङ्काशे देवारण्योपमे वने।
नानाविहगसङ्कीर्णे रंस्यसे राम निर्वृतः॥
tasmin nandana-saṅkāśe devāraṇyopame vane
nānā-vihaga-saṅkīrṇe raṁsyase rāma nirvṛtaḥ
tasmin = in that; nandana-saṅkāśe = it resembles the Nandana; deva-araṇya-upame = and is like the forests of the devas; vane = forest; nānā-vihaga-saṅkīrṇe = crowded with many birds; raṁsyase = and be happy; rāma = Rāma; nirvṛtaḥ = You will be relieved of distress.
Rāma, You will be relieved of distress and be happy in that forest. Crowded with many birds, it resembles the Nandana and is like the forests of the devas.
“The forests of the devas” refers to Caitraratha and the like.
After going to Śabarī’s āśrama to bless [her], Lord Rāmacandra should again go to Ṛśyamūka which is in front of Pampā. Kabandha explains this in the following two texts.
