तौ च दृष्ट्वा तदा सिद्धा समुत्थाय कृताञ्जलिः।
रामस्य पादौ जग्राह लक्ष्मणस्य च धीमतः।
पाद्यमाचमनीयं च सर्वं प्रादाद्यथाविधि॥
tau ca dṛṣṭvā tadā siddhā samutthāya kṛtāñjaliḥ
rāmasya pādau jagrāha lakṣmaṇasya ca dhīmataḥ
pādyam ācamanīyaṁ ca sarvaṁ prādād yathā-vidhi
tau ca = Them; dṛṣṭvā tadā = upon seeing; siddhā = that lady who was perfect in yoga; samutthāya = got up; kṛta-añjaliḥ = and joined her palms together in supplication; rāmasya = Rāma; pādau = the feet; jagrāha = she then touched; lakṣmaṇasya = Lakṣmaṇa; ca = and; dhīmataḥ = of the intelligent; pādyam = water to wash Their feet; ācamanīyam = and mouth; ca = and; sarvam = everything [else needed to receive a honorable guest]; prādāt = [and then] offered; yathā-vidhi = in accordance with scriptural injunctions.
Upon seeing Them, that lady, who was perfect in yoga, got up and joined her palms together in supplication.1 She then touched the feet of the intelligent Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa [and then] offered water to wash Their feet and mouth, and everything [else needed to receive an honorable guest] in accordance with scriptural injunctions.
1 Yoga refers to a spiritual process that leads to spiritual perfection. The process that she had followed was technically called ācāryābhimāna, steady adherence to the instructions of the bona fide ācāryas. See note to Rāmāyaṇa 1.1.54.
