Chapter 74: Lord Rāma Visits Śabarī
Text 3.74.21
पश्य मेघघनप्रख्यं मृगपक्षिसमाकुलम्।
मतङ्गवनमित्येव विश्रुतं रघुनन्दन॥
paśya megha-ghana-prakhyaṁ mṛga-pakṣi-samākulam
mataṅga-vanam ity eva viśrutaṁ raghu-nandana
paśya = look; megha-ghana-prakhyam = at this forest which resembles a thick cloud; mṛga-pakṣi-samākulam = and which is filled with deer and birds; mataṅga-vanam = Mataṅga’s forest; iti = as; eva = simply; viśrutam = it is known; raghu-nandana = O beloved descendant of Raghu.
O beloved descendant of Raghu, look at this forest which resembles a thick cloud and which is filled with deer and birds. It is simply known as Mataṅga’s forest.
