Chapter 10: Ṛśyaśṛṅga Comes to Romapada’s kingdom
Text 1.10.24
ततो परेद्युस्तं देशमाजगाम स वीर्यवान्।
मनोज्ञा यत्र ता दृष्टा वारमुख्याः स्वलङ्कृताः॥
tato paredyus taṁ deśam ājagāma sa vīryavān
manojñā yatra tā dṛṣṭā vāra-mukhyāḥ svalaṅkṛtāḥ
tataḥ = because his mind was attracted; paredyuḥ = the next day; tam = to that; deśam = place; ājagāma = came; saḥ = that; vīryavān = powerful one; manojñāḥ = who were charming; yatra = where; tāḥ = those; dṛṣṭāḥ = he had seen; vāra-mukhyāḥ = chief courtesans; svalaṅkṛtāḥ = and nicely decorated.
Because his mind was attracted, the next day that powerful one came to that place where he had seen those chief courtesans who were charming and nicely decorated.
