Chapter 11: Daśaratha Brings Ṛśyaśṛṅga to Ayodhyā
Text 1.11.26
ततः प्रहृष्टाः पौरास्ते श्रुत्वा राजानमागतम्।
तथा चक्रुस्तत्तत्सर्वं राज्ञा यत्प्रेषितं तदा॥
tataḥ prahṛṣṭāḥ paurās te śrutvā rājānam āgatam
tathā cakrus tat tat sarvaṁ rājñā yat preṣitaṁ tadā
tataḥ prahṛṣṭāḥ = delighted that; paurāḥ te = the citizens of Ayodhyā; śrutvā = merely upon hearing the king’s message; rājānam = he; āgatam = had almost arrived; tathā cakruḥ = did; tat tat sarvam = everything; rājñā = he; yat preṣitam tadā = had said.
Merely upon hearing the king’s message, delighted that he had almost arrived, the citizens of Ayodhyā did everything he had said.
