Chapter 16: Daśaratha Benedicted
Text 1.16.27
हर्षरश्मिभिरुद्योतं तस्यान्तःपुरमाबभौ।
शारदस्याभिरामस्य चन्द्रस्येव नभोंशुभिः॥
harṣa-raśmibhir udyotaṁ tasyāntaḥ-puram ābabhau
śāradasyābhirāmasya candrasyeva nabho ’ṁśubhiḥ
harṣa-raśmibhiḥ = with rays of delight [for having received the pāyasa]; udyotam = brilliantly; tasya = his; antaḥ-puram = the women in inner quarters; ābabhau = shone; śāradasya = autumn; abhirāmasya = of the pleasing; candrasya = moon; iva = just as; nabhaḥ = the sky [shines]; aṁśubhiḥ = due to the rays.
The women in his inner quarters shone brilliantly with rays of delight [for having received the pāyasa] just as the sky [shines] due to the rays of the pleasing autumn moon.
