Chapter 17: Brahmā Orders the Demigods to Incarnate and Assist Rāma
Text 1.17.19
यस्य देवस्य यद्रूपं वेषो यश्च पराक्रमः।
अजायत समस्तेन तस्य तस्य सुतः पृथक्॥
yasya devasya yad rūpaṁ veṣo yaś ca parākramaḥ
ajāyata samas tena tasya tasya sutaḥ pṛthak
yasya devasya = that deva; yat rūpam = in beauty; veṣaḥ = form; yaḥ ca parākramaḥ = and valor; ajāyata = generated; samaḥ tena = equal to; tasya tasya = each deva; sutaḥ = son; pṛthak = a unique.
Each deva generated a unique son equal to that deva in beauty, form and valor.
Though superficially monkeys, in terms of their forms and so on, all of them were factually equal to their respective fathers.
