Chapter 19: Viśvāmitra Requests Daśaratha to Give Rāma
Text 1.19.18
नात्येति कालो यज्ञस्य यथायं मम राघव।
तथा कुरुष्व भद्रं ते मा च शोके मनः कृथाः॥
nātyeti kālo yajñasya yathāyaṁ mama rāghava
tathā kuruṣva bhadraṁ te mā ca śoke manaḥ kṛthāḥ
na atyeti = before is over; kālaḥ = time; yajñasya = for that sacrifice; yathā = so; ayam = the; mama = of mine; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu; tathā kuruṣva = please do; bhadram = let there be auspiciousness; te = unto you; mā ca = don’t; śoke = in anxiety; manaḥ = your mind; kṛthāḥ = put.
O descendant of Raghu, please do so before the time for that sacrifice of mine is over. Let there be auspiciousness unto you! Don’t put your mind in anxiety.
