Chapter 21: The Anger and Appeasal of Viśvāmitra
Text 1.21.5

त्रस्तरूपं स विज्ञाय जगत्सर्वं महानृषिः।
नृपतिं सुव्रतो धीरो वसिष्ठो वाक्यमब्रवीत्॥

trasta-rūpaṁ sa vijñāya jagat sarvaṁ mahān ṛṣiḥ
nṛ-patiṁ
suvrato dhīro vasiṣṭho vākyam abravīt

trasta-rūpam = was extremely frightened; saḥ = he; vijñāya = when he understood that; jagat = world; sarvam = the entire; mahān = was a great; ṛṣiḥ = sage; nṛ-patim = to the king; suvrataḥ = of pious vows; dhīraḥ = and intelligent; vasiṣṭhaḥ = Vasiṣṭha; vākyam = the following words; abravīt = spoke.

Vasiṣṭha was a great and intelligent sage of pious vows. When he understood that the entire world was extremely frightened, he spoke the following words to the king.
