Chapter 23: The History of Kāmāśrama
Text 1.23.16
इहाद्य रजनीं राम वसेमशुभदर्शन।
पुण्ययोः सरितोर्मध्ये श्वस्तरिष्यामहे वयम्॥
ihādya rajanīṁ rāma vasema śubha-darśana
puṇyayoḥ saritor madhye śvas tariṣyāmahe vayam
iha = here, at Aṅgadeśa; adya rajanīm = tonight; rāma = O Rāma; vasema = we shall stay; śubha-darśana = of auspicious appearance; puṇyayoḥ = pious; saritoḥ = of these two rivers; madhye = at the confluence; śvaḥ = tomorrow; tariṣyāmahe = cross over the Gaṅgā; vayam = we will.
O Rāma of auspicious appearance, tonight we shall stay here at Aṅgadeśa at the confluence of these two pious rivers. Tomorrow we will cross over the Gaṅgā.
