Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā

पितुर्वचननिर्देशात्पितुर्वचनगौरवात्।
वचनं कौशिकस्येति कर्तव्यमविशङ्कया॥
pitur vacana-nirdeśāt pitur vacana-gauravāt
vacanaṁ kauśikasyeti kartavyam aviśaṅkayā
pituḥ = of my father; vacana-nirdeśāt = on the order; pituḥ vacana-gauravāt = out of respect for his words; vacanam = the instructions; kauśikasya = of the son of Kuśika; iti kartavyam = I should carry out; aviśaṅkayā = unhesitatingly.
On the order of my father, out of respect for his words, I should unhesitatingly carry out the instructions of the son of Kuśika.
Lord Rāma thought like this and spoke as follows to the sage.
