Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.4
सोऽहं पितुर्वचः श्रुत्वा शासनाद्ब्रह्मवादिनः॥
करिष्यामि न सन्देहस्ताटकावधमुत्तमम्॥
so ’haṁ pitur vacaḥ śrutvā śāsanād brahma-vādinaḥ
kariṣyāmi na sandehas tāṭakā-vadham uttamam
saḥ aham = I; pituḥ = of my father; vacaḥ = the words; śrutvā = having heard; śāsanāt = and the orders; brahma-vādinaḥ = of yourself, a teacher of the Vedas; kariṣyāmi = I shall execute; na sandehah = no doubt; tāṭakā-vadham = of killing Tāṭakā; uttamam = the good work.
Having heard the words of my father and the orders of yourself, a teacher of the Vedas, I shall certainly execute the good work of killing Tāṭakā, no doubt.
