Chapter 28: Viśvāmitra Teaches Rāma to Withdraw Divine Weapons

दिव्यभास्वरदेहाश्च मूर्तिमन्तः सुखप्रदाः।
केचिदङ्गारसदृशाः केचिद्धूमोपमास्तथा॥
divya-bhāsvara-dehāś ca mūrtimantaḥ sukha-pradāḥ
kecid aṅgāra-sadṛśāḥ kecid dhūmopamās tathā
divya-bhāsvara-dehāḥ ca = their bodies were praiseworthy, illuminating; mūrtimantaḥ = and hard [1]; sukha-pradāḥ = they were delightful; kecit = some; aṅgāra-sadṛśāḥ = resembled charcoal; kecit = some; dhūma-upamāḥ = were like smoke; tathā = and.
Their bodies were praiseworthy, illuminating and hard. They were delightful. Some resembled charcoal and some were like smoke.

Immediately after accepting the mantras, Lord Rāma directly perceived the presiding deities of those mantras. This is described in this and the following verse.
