Chapter 30: Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Protect Viśvāmitra’s Sacrifice

तौ च तद् वचनं श्रुत्वा राजपुत्रौ यशस्विनौ।
अनिद्रौ षदहोरात्रं तपोवनमरक्षताम्॥
tau ca tad vacanaṁ śrutvā rāja-putrau yaśasvinau
anidrau ṣad-aho-rātraṁ tapo-vanam arakṣatām
tau ca = the two; tat vacanam śrutvā = upon hearing those words; rāja-putrau = princes; yaśasvinau = famous; anidrau = without sleep; ṣaṭ-ahaḥ-rātram = for six days and nights; tapaḥ-vanam = the forest of austerity; arakṣatām = guarded.
Upon hearing those words, the two famous princes guarded the forest of austerity without sleep for six days and nights.
