Chapter 31: Viśvāmitra, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Depart for Mithilā

एवमुक्त्वा मुनिवरः प्रस्थानमकरोत्तदा।
सर्षिसङ्घः सकाकुत्स्थ आमन्त्र्य वनदेवताः॥
evam uktvā muni-varaḥ prasthānam akarot tadā
sarṣi-saṅghaḥ sakākutstha āmantrya vana-devatāḥ
evam uktvā = having said this; muni-varaḥ = the excellent sage; prasthānam akarot tadā = and departed; sa-ṛṣi-saṅghaḥ = with the sages; sa-kākutsthaḥ = and the descendants of Kakutstha; āmantrya = took leave; vana-devatāḥ = of the forest deities.
Having said this, the excellent sage took leave of the forest deities and departed with the sages and the descendants of Kakutstha.
Among the sages who had spoken to Rāma, Viśvāmitra was the main one.
