भगवन्कस्य देशोऽयं समृद्धवनशोभितः।
श्रोतुमिच्छामि भद्रं ते वक्तुमर्हसि तत्त्वतः॥
bhagavan kasya deśo ’yaṁ samṛddha-vana-śobhitaḥ
śrotum icchāmi bhadraṁ te vaktum arhasi tattvataḥ
bhagavan = O Lord; kasya deśaḥ ayam = whose is this place on the bank of Śoṇā; samṛddha-vana-śobhitaḥ = it is beautified by a prosperous forest; śrotum = to hear about this place; icchāmi = I want; bhadram te = auspiciousness unto you; vaktum arhasi = please describe it; tattvataḥ = truthfully.
