मा भूत्स कालो दुर्मेधः पितरं सत्यवादिनम्।
नावमन्यस्व धर्मेण स्वयं वरमुपास्महे॥

bhūt sa kālo durmedhaḥ pitaraṁ satya-vādinam
nāvamanyasva
dharmeṇa svayaṁ varam upāsmahe

bhūt = may not become; saḥ = he; kālaḥ = your death; durmedhaḥ = O unintelligent one; pitaram = our father; satya-vādinam = that speaker of truth; na avamanyasva = don’t disrespect; dharmeṇa = in line with dharma; svayam = personally; varam upāsmahe =we shall wait for our marriage arranged by our father.

O unintelligent one, may he, our father, not become your death. Don’t disrespect that speaker of truth. We shall personally wait for our marriage arranged by our father in line with dharma.

The girls intended to say, “We wait to be married to whoever our father personally gives us to in marriage.”
