अरत्निमात्राकृतयो भग्नदर्पा भयार्दिताः।
ताः कन्या वायुना भग्ना विविशुर्नृपतेर्गृहम्।
प्रापतन्भुवि सम्भ्रान्ताः सलज्जाः साश्रुलोचनाः॥
aratni-mātrākṛtayo bhagna-darpā bhayārditāḥ
tāḥ kanyā vāyunā bhagnā viviśur nṛ-pater gṛham
prāpatan bhuvi sambhrāntāḥ salajjāḥ sāśru-locanāḥ
aratni-mātra-ākṛtayaḥ = their bodies measuring a cubit; bhagna-darpāḥ = their pride broken; bhaya-arditāḥ tāḥ = distressed with fear; kanyāḥ = those girls; vāyunā bhagnāḥ = broken by Vāyu; viviśuḥ = entered; nṛ-pateḥ gṛham = the king’s house; prāpatan = they fell; bhuvi = on the ground; sambhrāntāḥ = bewildered; sa-lajjāḥ = and ashamed because of their bodily deformity; sa-aśru-locanāḥ = with tears in their eyes.
Their bodies measuring a cubit, their pride broken, distressed with fear, those girls broken by Vāyu entered the king’s house. Bewildered and ashamed because of their bodily deformity, they fell on the ground with tears in their eyes.
