Chapter 36: Umā Curses the Demigods
Text 1.36.13
त्रैलोक्यहितकामार्थं तेजस्तेजसि धारय।
रक्ष सर्वानिमाँल्लोकान्नालोकं कर्तुम् अर्हसि॥
trailokya-hita-kāmārthaṁ tejas tejasi dhāraya
rakṣa sarvān imānl lokān nālokaṁ kartum arhasi
trailokya-hita-kāma-artham = desiring the welfare of the three worlds; tejaḥ = your powerful semen; tejasi = your powerful body; dhāraya = please hold; rakṣa = please protect; sarvān = all; imān lokān = these worlds; na = not; alokam = the world devoid of population; kartum arhasi = you should make.
Desiring the welfare of the three worlds, please hold your powerful semen in your powerful body. Please protect all the worlds. You should not make the world devoid of population.
