Chapter 36: Umā Curses the Demigods
Text 1.36.14
देवतानां वचः श्रुत्वा सर्वलोकमहेश्वरः।
बाढमित्यब्रवीत्सर्वान्पुनश्चेदमुवाच ह॥
devatānāṁ vacaḥ śrutvā sarva-loka-maheśvaraḥ
bāḍham ity abravīt sarvān punaś cedam uvāca ha
devatānām = of demigod; vacaḥ = the words; śrutvā = having heard; sarva-loka-mahā-īśvaraḥ = the great controller of all the worlds; bāḍham iti = “alright”; abravīt = said; sarvān = to all of them; punaḥ ca = and; idam = as follows; uvāca ha = spoke.
Having heard the words of the demigods, the great controller of all the worlds said “Alright” and spoke further.
