Sitting on a golden celestial siṁhāsana, surrounded by His ministers and brothers, the Lord who had been initiated into the Aśvamedha sacrifice spoke to Lakṣmaṇa, Śatrughna and Bharata upon seeing the two handsome boys.

Then, the sage Vālmīki describes the entourage of the Mahāpuruṣa, the Great Being, the hero of this composition. The Lord was sitting on a golden siṁhāsana that was celestial because it was brought by Daśaratha from Svarga. It is thus indicated that He was free from any calamities.
