Chapter 40: Lord Kapila Punishes Sagara’s Sons
Text 1.40.27

ते तं हयहरं ज्ञात्वा क्रोधपर्याकुलेक्षणाः।
खनित्रलाङ्गलधरा नानावृक्षशिलाधराः।
अभ्यधावन्त सन्क्रुद्धास्तिष्ठ तिष्ठेति चाब्रुवन्॥

te taṁ haya-haraṁ jñātvā krodha-paryākulekṣaṇāḥ
khanitra-lāṅgaladharā nānā-vṛkṣa-śilādharāḥ
abhyadhāvanta sankruddhās tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābruvan

te = they; tam = him; haya-haram = to be the one who stole the horse; jñātvā = considering; krodha-paryākula-īkṣaṇāḥ = with the eyes filled with anger; khanitra-lāṅgaladharāḥ = taking up their spades and ploughs; nānā-vṛkṣa-śilādharāḥ = as well as many trees and stones; abhyadhāvanta = rushed towards him; sankruddhāḥ = furiously; tiṣṭha tiṣṭha iti = just stay there, just stay there; ca = and; abruvan = told him.

Considering Him to be the one who stole the horse, with eyes filled with anger, taking up their spades and ploughs as well as many trees and stones, they rushed [towards Him] and furiously told Him, “Just stay [there]!”
