Chapter 43: Gaṅgā Descends to the Earth
Text 1.43.31
शापात्प्रपतिता ये च गगनाद्वसुधातलम्।
कृत्वा तत्राभिषेकं ते बभूवुर्गतकल्मषाः॥
śāpāt prapatitā ye ca gaganād vasudhā-talam
kṛtvā tatrābhiṣekaṁ te babhūvur gata-kalmaṣāḥ
śāpāt = due to a curse; prapatitāḥ = had fallen down; ye ca = who; gaganāt = from the skies; vasudhā-talam = to earth; kṛtvā tatra abhiṣekam = took bath in Gaṅgā and; te = those; babhūvuḥ = became; gata-kalmaṣāḥ = freed from their contamination.
Those who had fallen down to earth from the skies due to a curse took bath in Gaṅgā and became freed from their contamination.
