Chapter 43: Gaṅgā Descends to the Earth
Text 1.43.32
धूतपापाः पुनस्तेन तोयेनाथ सुभास्वता।
पुनराकाशमाविश्य स्वान्ल्लोकान्प्रतिपेदिरे॥
dhūta-pāpāḥ punas tena toyenātha subhāsvatā
punar ākāśam āviśya svānl lokān pratipedire
dhūta-pāpāḥ = they became purified from their sinful reactions; punaḥ = again; tena = in contact with that; toyena = water; atha subhāsvatā = very radiant; punaḥ ākāśam āviśya = re-entered the skies and; svān lokān = their respective abodes; pratipedire = attained.
In contact with that very radiant water, they again became purified from their sinful reactions, re-entered the skies and attained their respective abodes.
They re-entered the skies, that is, they attained their respective [heavenly] abodes through the pathway of the skies.
