Chapter 46: Diti’s vow to kill Indra
Text 1.46.10
अग्निं कुशान्काष्ठमपः फलं मूलं तथैव च।
न्यवेदयत्सहस्राक्षो यच्चान्यदपि काङ्क्षितम्॥
agniṁ kuśān kāṣṭham apaḥ phalaṁ mūlaṁ tathaiva ca
nyavedayat sahasrākṣo yac cānyad api kāṅkṣitam
agnim = the sacred fire; kuśān = kuśa grasses; kāṣṭham = sacrificial wood; apaḥ = water; phalam = fruits; mūlam tathā eva ca = roots; nyavedayat = humbly gave her; sahasra-akṣaḥ = the thousand-eyed Indra; yat ca anyat api kāṅkṣitam = and anything else she wanted.
The thousand-eyed Indra humbly gave her the sacred fire, kuśa grasses, sacrificial wood, water, fruits, roots and anything else she wanted.
This verse describes how Indra menially served her.
