Chapter 48: Gautama Curses Ahalyā
Text 1.48.11

तान्दृष्ट्वा मुनयः सर्वे जनकस्य पुरीं शुभाम्।
साधु साध्विति शंसन्तो मिथिलां समपूजयन्॥

tān dṛṣṭvā munayaḥ sarve janakasya purīṁ śubhām
sādhu
sādhv iti śaṁsanto mithilāṁ samapūjayan

tān dṛṣṭvā = upon seeing Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Viśvāmitra; munayaḥ sarve = all the sages; janakasya purīm = Janaka’s city; śubhām = auspicious; sādhu sadhu iti = “sādhu, sādhu!”; śaṁsantaḥ = by uttering; mithilām = departing for Mithilā; samapūjayan = worshipped them.

Upon seeing Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Viśvāmitra departing for Mithilā, Janaka’s auspicious city, all the sages worshipped them by uttering “Sādhu, sādhu!”1

1 “Sādhu” means “Good!” It has been repeated to indicate emphasis.
