Chapter 49: Lord Rāmacandra Delivers Ahalyā
Text 1.49.12
इन्द्रस्तु मेषवृषणस्तदाप्रभृति राघव।
गौतमस्य प्रभावेन तपसश्च महात्मनः॥
indras tu meṣa-vṛṣaṇas tadā-prabhṛti rāghava
gautamasya prabhāvena tapasaś ca mahātmanaḥ
indraḥ tu = Indra who had lost his testicles; meṣa-vṛṣaṇaḥ = became fitted with the testicles of a ram; tadā-prabhṛti = from then on; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu; gautamasya = Gautama; prabhāvena = by the power; tapasaḥ ca = of the austerity; mahā-ātmanaḥ = of the great soul.
O descendant of Raghu, by the power of the austerity of the great soul Gautama from then on, Indra who had lost his testicles became fitted with the testicles of a ram.
