स्मरन्ती गौतमवचः प्रतिजग्राह सा च तौ॥
rāghavau tv atithī tasyāḥ pādau jagṛhatus tadā
smarantī gautama-vacaḥ pratijagrāha sā ca tau
rāghavau tu = the two descendants of Raghu; atithī = her guests; tasyāḥ pādau = her feet; jagṛhatuḥ = touched; tadā = then; smarantī = remembering; gautama-vacaḥ = Gautama’s words; pratijagrāha sā ca tau = she worshipfully touched Them.
The two descendants of Raghu, her guests, then touched her feet. Remembering Gautama’s words, she worshipfully touched Them.
1 Note that Lord Rāma is very respectful to her even though she had previously committed a terrible blunder.
Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa touched her feet since she was the wife of a senior sage.1 She remembered her husband’s words noted in text 35.
