Chapter 49: Lord Rāmacandra Delivers Ahalyā

अफलोऽस्मि कृतस्तेन क्रोधात्सा च निराकृता।
शापमोक्षेण महता तपोऽस्यापहृतं मया॥
aphalo ’smi kṛtas tena krodhāt sā ca nirākṛtā
śāpa-mokṣeṇa mahatā tapo ’syāpahṛtaṁ mayā
aphalaḥ asmi kṛtaḥ tena = he has made me impotent; krodhāt = out of anger; sā ca nirākṛtā = and he has cursed and rejected Ahalyā; śāpa-mokṣeṇa mahatā = because of his great curse upon me and Ahalyā; tapaḥ asya = his ascetic power; apahṛtam mayā = has been taken away by me.
Out of anger, he has made me impotent and he has cursed and rejected Ahalyā. Because of his great curse upon me and Ahalyā, his ascetic power has been taken away by me.
