Chapter 51: King Viśvāmitra Arrives at Vasiṣṭha’s Āśrama
Text 1.51.16
श्रूयतां अभिधास्यामि कौशिकस्य महात्मनः।
यथा बलं यथा वृत्तम्तन्मे निगदतः शृणु॥
śrūyatāṁ abhidhāsyāmi kauśikasya mahātmanaḥ
yathā balaṁ yathā vṛttam tan me nigadataḥ śṛṇu
śrūyatām = listen; abhidhāsyāmi = I describe; kauśikasya = Kauśika; mahā-ātmanaḥ = the great soul; yathā-balam = the kind of ascetic power accumulated by him; yathā-vṛttam = and the kind of activities performed by him; tat me nigadataḥ śṛṇu = listen while I speak about.
Listen. I will describe the great soul Kauśika. Listen while I speak about the kind of ascetic power accumulated by him and the kind of activities performed by him.
