Chapter 55: King Viśvāmitra Obtains Divine Weapons
Text 1.55.27
आश्रमं चिरसंवृद्धं यद्विनाशितवानसि।
दुराचारोऽसि तन्मूढ तस्मात्त्वं न भविष्यसि॥
āśramaṁ cira-saṁvṛddhaṁ yad vināśitavān asi
durācāro ’si tan mūḍha tasmāt tvaṁ na bhaviṣyasi
āśramam = this āśrama; cira-saṁvṛddham = that had been prospering for a long time; yat = because; vināśitavān asi = you have destroyed; durācāraḥ asi tat = you are of abominable behavior; mūḍha = O fool; tasmāt = therefore; tvam = you; na bhaviṣyasi =will perish.
Because you have destroyed this āśrama that had been prospering for a long time, you are of abominable behavior. Therefore, O fool, you will perish.
