Chapter 6: The Residents of Ayodhyā
Text 1.6.9

सर्वे नराश्च नार्यश्च धर्मशीलाः सुसंयताः।
उदिताः शिलवृत्ताभ्यां महर्षय इवामलाः॥

sarve narāś ca nāryaś ca dharma-śīlāḥ susaṁyatāḥ
uditāḥ śīla-vṛttābhyāṁ maha-rṣaya ivāmalāḥ

sarve = all; narāḥ ca = men; nāryaḥ = women; ca = and; dharma-śīlāḥ= in Ayodhyā were dhārmika; susaṁyatāḥ = well in control of their senses; uditāḥ = naturally developed; śīla-vṛttābhyām = in good nature and behaviour [6]; mahā-ṛṣayaḥ = maharṣis; iva = like; amalāḥ = spotless in mind.

All men and women in Ayodhyā were dhārmika, well in control of their senses, naturally developed in good nature and behavior, spotless in mind like maharṣis.
