Text 1.62.3

विवर्णवदनो दीनस्तृष्णया च श्रमेण च।
पपाताङ्के मुनेराशु वाक्यं चेदमुवाच ह॥

vivarṇa-vadanaḥ = his face discolored; dīnaḥ = he was sorely afflicted; tṛṣṇayā ca = by thirst; śrameṇa ca = and fatigue; papāta = he fell; aṅke = onto the lap; muneḥ = of the sage Viśvāmitra; āśu = immediately; vākyam = words; ca = and; idam = the following; uvāca ha = spoke.

His face discolored, he was sorely afflicted by thirst and fatigue. He immediately fell onto the lap of the sage Viśvāmitra and spoke the following words.

Tṛṣṇayā also indicates that Śunaḥśepa was afflicted with a greed to save his life. Śrameṇa indicates that he was tired due to the travel. He fell onto the sage’s lap because Viśvāmitra was his maternal uncle.
