Chapter 63: Viśvāmitra Falls Prey to Lust

महर्षे स्वागतं वत्स तपसोग्रेण तोषितः।
महत्त्वमृषिमुख्यत्वं ददामि तव कौशिक॥
maha-rṣe svāgataṁ vatsa tapasogreṇa toṣitaḥ
mahattvam ṛṣi-mukhyatvaṁ dadāmi tava kauśika
maha-rṣeḥ = O maharṣi; svāgatam = welcome; vatsa = my child; tapasā ugreṇa = with your fierce austerities; toṣitaḥ = satisfied; mahattvam = the great status; ṛṣi-mukhyatvam = of being a great sage [maharṣi]; dadāmi = I confer; tava = upon you; kauśika = O Kauśika.
O maharṣi, welcome, my child! Satisfied with your fierce austerities, O Kauśika, I confer upon you the great status of being a great sage [maharṣi].
