Chapter 64: Viśvāmitra Falls Prey to Anger
Text 1.64.10

अथ तस्य च शब्देन गीतेनाप्रतिमेन च।
दर्शनेन च रम्भाया मुनिः सन्देहमागतः॥

atha tasya ca śabdena gītenāpratimena ca
darśanena
ca rambhāyā muniḥ sandeham āgataḥ

atha = then; tasya ca śabdena gītena = by hearing the song sounded by the cuckoo; apratimena ca darśanena ca = and the unrivalled beauty; rambhāyāḥ = of Rambhā; muniḥ = the sage; sandeham āgataḥ = became doubtful.

Then, by hearing the song sounded by the cuckoo and the unrivalled beauty of Rambhā, the sage became doubtful.

The sage became doubtful, “Has she been sent by the thousand-eyed Indra or has she come by herself?”
