Chapter 66: The History of Lord Śiva’s bow
Text 1.66.7
एवमुक्तस्तु जनकः प्रत्युवाच महामुनिम्।
श्रूयतामस्य धनुषो यदर्थमिह तिष्ठति॥
evam uktas tu janakaḥ pratyuvāca mahā-munim
śrūyatām asya dhanuṣo yad-artham iha tiṣṭhati
evam uktaḥ tu = being addressed thus; janakaḥ = Janaka; pratyuvāca = replied; mahā-munim = to the great sage; śrūyatām = please listen; asya dhanuṣaḥ yat-artham iha tiṣṭhati = to the purpose for which this bow is in my house.
Being addressed thus, Janaka replied to the great sage: Please listen to the purpose for which this bow is in my house.
