Chapter 67: Lord Rāma Breaks Lord Śiva’s bow
Text 1.67.13
महर्षेर्वचनाद्रामो यत्र तिष्ठति तद्धनुः।
मञ्जूषां तामपावृत्य दृष्ट्वा धनुरथाब्रवीत्॥
maha-rṣer vacanād rāmo yatra tiṣṭhati tad dhanuḥ
mañjūṣāṁ tām apāvṛtya dṛṣṭvā dhanur athābravīt
maha-rṣeḥ = of the great sage; vacanāt = on [the strength of] the words; rāmaḥ = Lord Rāma; yatra tiṣṭhati tat dhanuḥ = containing the bow; mañjūṣām tām apāvṛtya = removed the covering of the box; dṛṣṭvā = saw and; dhanuḥ = the bow; atha abravīt = spoke as follows.
On [the strength of] the words of the great sage, Lord Rāma removed the covering of the box containing the bow, saw the bow and spoke as follows.
