Chapter 7: King Daśaratha’s Ministers
Text 1.7.9
तेषामविदितं किञ्चित्स्वेषु नास्ति परेषु वा।
क्रियमाणं कृतं वापि चारेणापि चिकीर्षितम्॥
teṣām aviditaṁ kiñcit sveṣu nāsti pareṣu vā
kriyamāṇaṁ kṛtaṁ vāpi cāreṇāpi cikīrṣitam
teṣām = that they; aviditam = did not know; kiñcit = or any; sveṣu = about their; na = nothing; asti = there was nothing; pareṣu = other kingdoms; vā = kingdom or; kriyamāṇam = was happening; kṛtam= that had happened; vā api = or; cāreṇa api = through spies; cikīrṣitam = was bound to happen.
There was nothing about their kingdom or other kingdoms that had happened, was happening or was bound to happen that they did not know through spies.
They knew about all events pertaining to their kingdom as well as other kingdoms.
