Chapter 70: Rāma’s Noble Lineage
Text 1.70.14
मन्त्रिश्रेष्ठवचः श्रुत्वा राजा सर्षिगणस्तदा।
सबन्धुरगमत्तत्र जनको यत्र वर्तते॥
mantri-śreṣṭha-vacaḥ śrutvā rājā sarṣi-gaṇas tadā
sabandhur agamat tatra janako yatra vartate
mantri-śreṣṭha-vacaḥ = the words of that excellent minister; śrutvā = hearing; rājā = the king; sa-rṣi-gaṇaḥ tadā = with the sages; sa-bandhuḥ = and relatives; agamat = went; tatra janakaḥ yatra vartate = to where Janaka was.
Hearing the words of that excellent minister, the king, with the sages and relatives, went to where Janaka was.
