Chapter 70: Rāma’s Noble Lineage
Text 1.70.31
ततः शैलवरं रम्यं बभूवाभिरतो मुनिः।
भार्गवश्च्यवनो नाम हिमवन्तमुपाश्रितः॥
tataḥ śaila-varaṁ ramyaṁ babhūvābhirato muniḥ
bhārgavaś cyavano nāma himavantam upāśritaḥ
tataḥ = then; śaila-varam = excellent mountain; ramyam = with that lovely and; babhūva = becoming; abhirataḥ = pleased; muniḥ = a sage; bhārgavaḥ = a son of Bhṛgu; cyavanaḥ nāma = of the name Cyavana; himavantam = the Himālaya; upāśritaḥ = settled there.
Then, becoming pleased with that lovely and excellent mountain, the Himālaya, a sage of the name Cyavana, a son of Bhṛgu, settled there.
The sage considered that place to be his place and so was happy to be there. He came to that place in order to benedict [those who sought his blessings there].
