Text 1.70.35-36

evam uktā mahā-bhāgā asite svar-gate sati
nidhāya
ceto nṛ-patau vidyullekheva suprabhā

cyavanaṁ tu namaskṛtya rāja-putrī pati-vratā
pati-śokāturā
tasmāt putraṁ devī vyajāyata

evam uktā mahā-bhāgā = after that greatly fortunate lady was addressed thus; asite svar-gate sati = Asita who then attained the heavenly planets; nidhāya = she fixed; cetaḥ = her mind; nṛ-patau = on her husband King; vidyut-lekhā iva suprabhā = like an extremely brilliant streak of lightning; cyavanam tu = unto Cyavana; namaskṛtya = offered her obeisances and; rāja-putrī = that princess; pati-vratā = chaste to her husband; pati-śokāturā = became overwhelmed in lamentation about her husband; tasmāt = by the blessings of Cyavana; putram = to a son; devī = that goddess; vyajāyata = gave birth.

After that greatly fortunate lady was addressed thus, she fixed her mind on her husband, King Asita, who then attained the heavenly planets. Like an extremely brilliant streak of lightning, that princess chaste to her husband offered her obeisances unto Cyavana and became overwhelmed in lamentation about her husband. By the blessings of Cyavana, that goddess gave birth to a son.

It is understood that by the will of providence her husband died immediately after [she was thus benedicted by Cyavana Ṛṣi].
