Chapter 72: Daśaratha’s Charity Before the Wedding
Text 1.72.11
एवं भवतु भद्रं वः कुशध्वजसुते इमे।
पत्न्यौ भजेतां सहितौ शत्रुघ्नभरतावुभौ॥
evaṁ bhavatu bhadraṁ vaḥ kuśadhvaja-sute ime
patnyau bhajetāṁ sahitau śatrughna-bharatāv ubhau
evam bhavatu = let it be so; bhadram vaḥ = may there be auspiciousness unto both of you; kuśadhvaja-sute ime = let these two daughters of Kuśadhvaja; patnyau bhajetām = become wives; sahitau = of the constant companions; śatrughna-bharatau ubhau Śatrughna and Bharata respectively.
May there be auspiciousness unto both of you. Let it be so. Let these two daughters of Kuśadhvaja become wives of the constant companions Śatrughna and Bharata respectively.
