Chapter 73: The Grand Wedding of Sītā and Rāma
Text 1.73.21-22

प्रवेश्यमानं राजानं वसिष्ठं गाधिनः सुतम्।
सर्वान्नृपवरान्विप्राञ्जनको धर्मवत्सलः॥

वस्त्रैराभरणैश्चैव गन्धपुष्पैश्च साक्षतैः।
पूजयामास विधिवद्यथायोग्यं यथाक्रमम्॥

praveśyamānaṁ rājānaṁ vasiṣṭhaṁ gādhinaḥ sutam
sarvān
nṛpa-varān viprāñ janako dharma-vatsalaḥ

vastrair ābharaṇaiś caiva gandha-puṣpaiś ca sākṣataiḥ
pūjayām
āsa vidhivad yathā-yogyaṁ yathā-kramam

praveśyamānam = who was entering the wedding platform; rājānam = the king; vasiṣṭham = as well as Vasiṣṭha; gādhinaḥ sutam = the son of Gādhi (Viśvāmitra); sarvān nṛpa-varān = all of the excellent kings [present on the occasion]; viprān = and the brāhmaṇas; janakaḥ = Janaka; dharma-vatsalaḥ = fond of dharma; vastraiḥ = with gifts of cloth; ābharaṇaiḥ ca eva = ornaments; gandha-puṣpaiḥ ca = fragrance, and flowers; sa-akṣataiḥ = with unbroken grains; pūjayām āsa = honored; vidhivat = as per the scriptural rules; yathā-yogyam = as appropriate; yathā-kramam = and in the right order.

Fond of dharma, Janaka honored the king who was entering the wedding platform as well as Vasiṣṭha, the son of Gādhi (Viśvāmitra), all of the excellent kings [present on the occasion] and the brāhmaṇas with gifts of cloth, ornaments, fragrance and  flowers with unbroken grains as per the scriptural rules as appropriate and in the right order.
