Chapter 9: Conversation Between Sumantra and Daśaratha
Text 1.9.13
तेषां तु वचनं श्रुत्वा राजा चिन्तां प्रपत्स्यते।
केनोपायेन वै शक्यमिहानेतुं स वीर्यवान्॥
teṣāṁ tu vacanaṁ śrutvā rājā cintāṁ prapatsyate
kenopāyena vai śakyam ihānetuṁ sa vīryavān
teṣām tu = their; vacanam = words; śrutvā = hearing; rājā = the king; cintām prapatsyate = will fall into anxiety thinking; kena upāyena vai = by what means; śakyam = can; iha = here; ānetuṁ = be brought; saḥ = that; vīryavān = powerful practitioner of brahmacarya;
Hearing their words, the king will fall into anxiety thinking, “By what means can that powerful practitioner of brahmacarya be brought here?”
This describes his mode of thinking.
