te tu rājñaḥ vacaḥ śrutvā vyathitā vinatānanāḥ
na gacchema ṛṣer bhītā anuneṣyanti taṁ nṛpam

te = they; tu = but; rājñaḥ = of the king; vacaḥ = those words; śrutvā = upon hearing; vyathitāḥ = will become distressed; vinata-ānanāḥ = and hence, with their heads turned down; na = not; gacchema = we will go; ṛṣeḥ = of the sage Vibhāṇḍaka; bhītāḥ = they will tell him, frightened; anuneṣyanti = and console; tam = the; nṛpam = king.

But upon hearing those words of the king, they will become distressed and hence, with their heads turned down, they will tell him, “Frightened of the sage Vibhaṇḍaka, we will not go” and console the king.

They will console the king, “We will not be able to go. But we will think of a means to bring Ṛśyaśṛṅga and tell you.”
